Dachshund Mumps

Poor Hazel.  If you ever have a dachshund that looks like it has the mumps more than likely it has been bitten by a spider or stung by a bee....and this is what it looks like.  We came home last week to find Hazel's face swollen and her eye half shut and we thought "here we go again".  A round of Benedryl usually works but we weren't able to give it to her in time so off the to vet we went where she expressed quite a bit of fluid.  This is the third time this has happened and the first time the vet thought it was cancer and Ernie ended up shaved and cut up with a tube hanging out of his cheek, and quite miserable. Now Hazel is walking around with a cone on and the opening still hasn't heeled but at least she's doing better.  Poor Hazel.
